NO SERIOUS INJURIES IN ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 36 NEAR LYONS

  

Update @ 9:10 a.m.: No serious injuries are reported after an accident this (Thursday) morning that shut down both lanes of Highway 36 in Burleson County near Lyons.

Highway Patrol Sergeant Justin Stohler reports the five-vehicle accident occurred when a vehicle driving southbound on the highway struck another southbound vehicle turning into a business.

The two vehicles became disabled in the roadway, which caused a pile-up with three other northbound vehicles that could not see due to the fog.

DPS and the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident, which slowed traffic for several hours.

 

Original Story @ 7:33 a.m.: Both lanes of Highway 36 in Burleson County near Lyons are shut down, following an accident this (Thursday) morning.

Burleson County Chief Deputy John Pollock says five vehicles were involved in the accident, but only minor injuries have been reported at this time.  Pollock said fog may have been a factor in the accident.

The Sheriff’s Office is on scene with DPS working to clear the scene.
