HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES BEGIN FRIDAY IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM

  

Brenham will come alive with holiday spirit this weekend with a variety of events across downtown throughout today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday).

Activities begin today with the Jingle Bell Market at the Ant Street Inn from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the Farmer and Artisan Market on Baylor Street from 3 to 7 p.m. Beginning at 7 p.m., the Tuba Christmas will feature traditional Christmas music played by tuba and euphonium players.  Simply Wright Fitness will host “Jingle Bell Boxing” from 7 to 8 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Gatlin Brothers will perform some of their greatest hits and holiday music with “Country and Christmas” at the Barnhill Center, also at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online at http://thebarnhillcenter.com.

Saturday starts with Breakfast with Santa at Must Be Heaven at 8 and 9 a.m., offering photos with Santa and activities for children. Adults and children can register for the event here.

The Jingle Bell Market continues Saturday at the Ant Street Inn, while shops through downtown will host the Sip, Shop and Stroll from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Santa’s Village from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local Girl Scouts will gather in front of the courthouse at 5 p.m. to sing Christmas carols and light the Christmas trees.

Dozens of parade entries will take to the streets for the “Christmas Memories on Main” lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m. Following the parade, people can sit with Santa in Alamo Alley and take rides on the 1950 Invader Fire Truck.
