HOUSTON MAN DEAD IN BRENHAM ACCIDENT

A Houston man is dead after a two-vehicle accident Sunday night on Highway 290 in Brenham.

Authorities were called out to the 1900 Block of Highway 290 West, near the intersection of Old Mill Creek Rd.

Police say the driver of a 2001 Chevy Tahoe was west-bound on 290 when he inexplicably crossed the median into the eastbound lane, striking another vehicle, head-on.

The driver of that other vehicle, 20-year old Jeremy Balason of Houston, driving a 2012 Mitsubishi passenger car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Tahoe was taken to Scott & White Hospital in Brenham.  His condition is unknown.

  1. I also worked with Jeremy. I feel honored that I was able to meet him. Jeremy is very special to all of us. I will be at the viewing tonight. R.I.P Jeremy. You and your family are in my prayers

  2. I’d like to know the status of the man who caused Jeremy’s death. Also, was he intoxicated or tired or what caused him to go to the eastbound lane?

    1. The other driver is ok and is a minor the family is dealing with there issues with this wreak too. If and when they want the public to know who the other driver is I’m sure you will find out but as of now the other driver is doing ok. And to answer the other question the other driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs were not found in the drivers system.
