I-10 COULD BE CLOSED FOR UP TO 10 DAYS

TxDOT officials say flooded I-10 in Southeast Texas will stay closed through the weekend and could be closed for up to ten days.

Officials say I-10 near Beaumont remains closed in both directions. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes because the highly-traveled interstate is not expected to reopen until Monday afternoon at the earliest.

Thousands of residents have been evacuated since heavy rain last week led to flooding along the Sabine River.

Meanwhile, severe weather hit the Metroplex early this (Thursday) morning.  Hail the size of golf balls hit the Fort Worth-area, breaking some vehicle windshields

Electric provider Oncor says about 17,000 customers lost power in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
