IDENTITIES REVEALED OF BRENHAM MAN, WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN VEHICLE

Police have released the names of two individuals whose bodies were found in a parked car Sunday afternoon in Brenham.

Travis County Medical Examiners determined that 36-year-old Andrea Lynn Davenport and 39-year-old Nathan Altman Collins, both of Brenham, each had a lethal amount of carbon monoxide in their system.

Brenham police discovered the bodies after being called out to the 500 block of East Alamo Street around 2:30 p.m.  It is uncertain how long the bodies had been in the vehicle, before police arrived.

Investigators say the deaths were accidental, and that no foul play had occurred.

  1. For the longest time, you could hear Andi coming from blocks away. She told me the intention was to have the muffler repaired by a neighbor mechanic. I don’t know if that happened. I do know that i stopped hearing her coming from afar.

  2. If people can die inside a car with the ac on and windows rolled up, then there are a boatload of people that should be dead right now. Too bad we don’t have a top notch forensic team available in this state. Oh, wait, we do. Relatives need to know what really happened here. This “ investigation” seems lacking, to be kind.

    1. If you have an exhaust leak anywhere near the a/c intake, you will end up inhaling carbon monoxide if the car is not moving. Not all cars have exhaust leaks. It would be my GUESS that leaving the windows up is what killed them — had fresh air been free to enter the cabin, there would not have been a fatal build-up of CO. If I were a surviving family member, I’d want the car tested for exhaust leaks, and would be looking very hard at what maintenance, if any, had been performed that might involve the exhaust system.

      1. This is something that everyone should know and stay aware of; thanks for the info.

    2. I dont know for sure but i bet the exhaust was modified. That could have very easily killed them. Ask the relatives to look into if the exhaust was modified and I bet the answer is yes. People alot of times ignore the safety and go for the sound. Not saying this was the case but it most likely was. My condolences to the families of both victims.

    3. I’m sure nothing was lacking in the investigation and that the relatives know what really happened. Not all details need to be released to the public out of respect for the victims and their families.

    4. Have you been away from all information sources? What happened is all too common, the reason it does not kill folks more often is that a moving vehicle is USUALLY less likely to have too much CO to kill those inside.
