A Brazos County Grand Jury has indicted a Bryan mother and her boyfriend on charges related to the death of a child, believed to be her daughter.

35-year old Virginia Adams and 51-year old Patrick Wilson were indicted on charges of injury to a child and tampering with evidence to alter, destroy or conceal a human body.

Back on August 4th, investigators with the Bryan Police Department found a child's body buried in the backyard of the home while searching for Rayven Shields, Adams’ daughter, who had been reported missing in July.

Investigators said they were waiting on autopsy reports to confirm the body is that of Rayven Shields.  That autopsy report is still pending at this time.

Family members say Wilson lived with Adams, Ravyen, and other family members at a home on Conner Street near State Highway 21.

Wilson was also indicted on a charge of Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Both Adams and Wilson remain in the Brazos County Jail.

  1. This is so sad and tragic that these to horrible people would harm and kill an innocent child. They deserve to be locked away for life, we need to send a message to everyone that children are off limits, our job as adults is to protect and love them and to not cause harm.
