JILL WOLFSKILL AND BEN LEMAN IN PRIMARY RUNOFF

The Republican Primary Election for District 13 State Representative now enters a runoff phase with the top two vote getters.  Jill Wolfskill of Austin County and Ben Leman of Grimes County will be in a runoff election on May 22nd.  Wolfskill received 8874 in Tuesday’s election and Leman received 8349 votes.  The other 3 candidates shared 5818 votes.  Wolfskill says her strategy in the election really doesn’t change now that it’s a two person race:

Ben Leman says he feels really good about the primary election and the challenge now will be to get the voters out again for the runoff:

The winner of the primary runoff election will face Cecil Webster in the November General Election.  Webster was unopposed in the Democratic Primary.  The candidates are also in the special election to fill the unexpired term of Leighton Schubert.  That election is set for May 5th and could also end up in a runoff.

  1. I’ll vote for the one that receives support from Empower Texans. It’s a great organization that works in the best interest of conservatives, not necessarily the GOP and especially not the left.

    1. Undermining local school boards is in the best interest of conservatives? My grandfater must be rolling in his grave…

      1. Based on performance, it sure is. What was the % of “Yes” on Proposition #5 on the GOP ballot?

        1. You gonna answer yourself, or leave us hanging? And what’s your point, anyway?

  2. Let’s see if either one accepts support from Empower Texans. We don’t need a few billionaires and their group “Empower Texans” trying to influence this race.
