JOBS FOR LIFE CLASS BEING OFFERED IN BRENHAM

The Washington County Jobs for Life program begins its’ 34th class, Tuesday, at Redeemer Church in Brenham.

The program is described as a Christian-based “soft-skills” job training program with a mission to train and equip unemployed or underemployed county citizens.

Organizers says the program will train citizens to become valuable members of the work force, obtain the necessary income to provide for their families, and discover their purpose through the dignity of work.

Classes are conducted twice per week for eight weeks, and includes interactive learning, computer/resume writing, guest speakers and champions/mentors from the community.

A business round table will include employers from such local companies as: Blue Bell, Scott and White Hospital, Blinn College and Brenham National Bank.

Upon successful completion and graduation students are eligible for a $500 scholarship to be used for further education such as the Blinn Hodde Center, college/university studies, and other employment related activities.
