JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION SATURDAY AT WASHINGTON-ON-THE-BRAZOS
Tomorrow (Saturday) morning, the birthplace of Texas will be putting on its annual Juneteenth Heritage Celebration.
The Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site will host the celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year’s celebration will feature a variety of musical performances, guest speakers, art displays, food trucks, and honoring of African American heritage across the Brazos Valley. There will also be over a dozen exhibits, a kids zone with old time games, and craft-making.
Sponsors of this year’s celebration include H-E-B, Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Herzstein Foundation, City of Navasota, Arts Council of the Brazos Valley and Rotary Club of Washington County.
