Kadrian Hammond scores his first conference touchdown of the season

KILGORE, Texas — No. 5 Kilgore College defeated Blinn College football (4-4, 2-4) on Saturday, 49-7.

The Rangers took a 21-0 lead in the first quarter before climbing to a 35-0 lead at the half. Blinn scored the only touchdown in the third quarter and Kilgore finished the game with two touchdowns in the final quarter.

In the opening quarter, Kilgore scored touchdowns at the 9:26 and 7:01 marks, and returned a kickoff with 4:45 remaining for an early lead.

The Rangers scored with 13:45 and 12:35 on the clock to pull ahead 35-0 in the second quarter.

Blinn scored the only touchdown in the third quarter with 3:27 showing as Brock Landis threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Kadrian Hammond for the Buccaneers to trail 35-7.

Kilgore added two more touchdowns to the board in the final quarter at the 15:00 and 7:49 marks for a 49-7 final.

Next, the Buccaneers will travel to play New Mexico Military Institute on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 5 p.m. for the final game of the regular season.
