KRAUSE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HOSTS BOOK DONATION EVENT

Congressman Michael McCaul (R) with (L to R) Tosha, Avahlynn, and Azairah Cuellar, Donna Cullivar with Adam's Angels Ministry, and Sadie Keller.

U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul and Sadie Keller, a 13-year-old cancer survivor were at Brenham’s Krause Elementary School this (Tuesday) afternoon to give to the library copies of their book, Better Angels.  Keller and McCaul wrote the book about Sadie’s journey though childhood cancer.  After Sadie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at age 7, she began making videos on YouTube to help other kids know about the experience.  After she met Congressman McCaul, her stories became a book.  McCaul explains what the book is about:

Sadie Keller is 13 now, and she explains what writing the book was like:

Also on hand was childhood cancer survivor Avahlynn Cuellar.  Avahlynn is a 1st grade student at Krause Elementary School and the daughter of Adrian and Tosha Cuellar.

The Better Angels book will be donated to all of the Brenham ISD's school libraries, and McCaul and Keller plan to travel to Houston Wednesday to donate boxes of books to M.D. Anderson and Texas Children’s Hospitals.  The book donations are part of the kickoff to Childhood Cancer Awareness month and Adam’s Angels Ministry.
