LAKE SOMERVILLE CLOSINGS

  

The flood gates at Lake Somerville are currently closed and will not be opened anytime in the near future, according to engineers at Lake Somerville Corp of Engineers.

The floodgates are open and closed according to the amount of water downstream.

The water is currently five feet from the spillway.

Currently, Lake Somerville is at 252.52 feet. Normal is 238 ft.

 

Due to flooding, several boat ramps and campsites are closed due to high water. Items listed below are closed until further notice.

  • Yegua Creek Park: Boat ramps 1 & 2.

Sites 57-83.

 

  • Rocky Creek Park: CLOSED

 

  • Reservations for all sites in Rocky Creek Park and those listed for Yegua Creek Park have been cancelled through 21 June 2015 and NRRS should be contacting individuals to inform them of the cancellations. Individuals will be given a full refund and will not be charged a cancellation fee. More cancellations may be required as the water rises. If these sites are able to be opened sooner, details will be posted on this website.
  • Pecan Lake and Ironbridge Road Area's are closed due to water over access roads.
