A former Brenham Cub and Blinn Buccaneer basketball player will be taking the floor tonight when March Madness kicks off in Dayton, Ohio.
Antione Lister will be in uniform for the Prairie View A&M Panthers when they face Fairleigh Dickenson a battle of #16 seeds in the West Region.
Lister has appeared in 32 of the Panthers’ 34 games in 2018-19, averaging 4.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. He’s also shooting .411 percent from beyond the three-point line (23-of-56).
Antione has scored in double figures eight times this season, including a season-high 18 points against Alabama A&M on February 2nd. He had six points in the Panthers’ win Saturday over Texas Southern, which clinched their NCAA Tournament bid.
Lister averaged 13.4 points per game for the Buccaneers in 2017-18, while shooting .438 percent from the three-point line. He was named all Region XIV South Zone.
He helped lead the Brenham Cubs to the playoffs in both his junior and senior seasons, leading the team in scoring both seasons. He was named All-District in both, 2014-15 and 2015-16. He was district MVP his senior season.
