LOCAL FOOTBALL PLAYER HOSPITALIZED
Update:
Brenham ISD released a statement Tuesday morning about this incident:
BISD -
On Monday, August 8, a Brenham High School athlete was transported from the Brenham
High School Field House to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Brenham, Texas after
exhibiting signs of dehydration. The student was kept overnight as a precaution and is
scheduled to be released today.
Brenham athletes begin practice at 6:30 a.m. and conclude at 9:30 a.m. Scheduled water
breaks are offered every fifteen minutes and water is available at all times during practice.
“The safety of our athletes is our top priority and we’re proud of our coaching and training
staff for taking every precaution for student safety,” said BISD Athletic Director Glen West.
The coaches can only do so much, the parents need to drill into their kid’s head that at least a gallon of water needs to be drank thru out the day to KEEP them hydrated!!
When are people going to learn that health and safety are more important than sports?
Those kids get plenty of water and breaks! Hope that young man will be ok. You just have to listen to your body when you are out there like they are!
Coaches need to watch how much much water the players get..
