AREA PACKING COMPANY HELPING CONTROL FERAL HOGS AND FEED THE HUNGRY
An area meat packing company is helping Harris County deal with two problems, the exploding feral hog population in residential neighborhoods and feeding the hungry.
Robin Luedtke, who along with her husband Terry, own and operate J and J Packing have won a bid to accept captured feral hogs, process them, and then have the final product delivered to the Harris County Food Bank. Ms. Luedtke says this takes care of ‘two birds with one stone.’
Luedtke says they will begin processing the hogs in mid-May. She says getting this bid was actually a surprise.
