LOCAL PECAN SHOW WINNERS ANNOUNCED

  

The Washington County Horticulture Committee hosted the 2019 Washington County Pecan Show back in November.

Pecans from across Washington and several neighboring counties were evaluated for quality and variety characteristics.

This year’s major award winners include:

Grand Champion Classic and New – Cinco B Farms

Grand Champion Commercial – Cinco B Farms

Grand Champion Native – Luedeker Pecans

Reserve Champion Classic and New – Tim Meier

Reserve Champion Commercial – Tim Meier

Reserve Champion Native – Nisha Coker

Washington County producers submitted 45 entries this year.

Entries advancing to the East Region Pecan Show, January 6-8 at Texas A&M, will be judged by a panel of pecan experts.
