LOCAL POLICE ARREST HOUSTON MAN ON GUN/MARIJUANA CHARGES
A Houston man is behind bars after his arrest Wednesday afternoon.
29-year old Garrett Robert Grimmett was pulled over just after 3:00 pm by Cpl. Seth Klehm in the 4000 block of Highway 290 East for speeding.
As Grimmett rolled his window down, Klehm says he could smell the strong odor of marijuana.
As Grimmett opened the glove compartment, Klehm says he also saw a handgun inside. Klehm removing the handgun as well as a full magazine of ammunition. He also located marijuana in the car.
Grimmett is charged with Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
