LOCAL VFW TO HONOR “PEARL HARBOR DAY”

The public is invited to commemorate Pearl Harbor Day at the local VFW Post.

The James F. Dillion Post 7104 is hosting a gathering Saturday, December 6th at the Post home on Tom Green St. in Brenham beginning at 3:00 pm.

A short program will be presented at 4:00 pm and a meal of chicken stew will follow.

A special flag ceremony is planned, with the flag being lowered to half mast, accompanied by Taps.

The flag will remain at half mast throughout December 7 to commemorate all military personnel who gave the ultimate sacrifice at Pearl Harbor.

Event organizers Clarence Gerke and Ben Seeker especially want to honor World War II veterans, as well as veterans of Korea, Viet Nam, Desert Storm, the Iraqi War, and Afghanistan.

All veterans, their families, and all citizens are invited to attend and share time with those who served thier country.
