CANDIDATE PROFILE: LOIS KOLKHORST LOOKING FORWARD TO SPECIAL ELECTION THIS SATURDAY

Lois Kolkhorst, along with four others, are running for Texas Senate Seat  District 18, and the Brenham native feels that she is pleased with campaign and all of the support she has received.

Kolkhorst announced that she would run for state Sen. Genn Hegar’s seat if Hegar won his bid for election to the Comptroller’s office. The win by Hegar triggered a special election for his Senate seat, the election for which is this Saturday.

With endorsement from Governor Rick Perry, Governor-elect Greg Abbott, Texas Comptroller-elect Glen Hager, the NRA, Right To Life, and recently Kaye Goolsby, who is the state wide grassroots Chairman for Senator Ted Cruz and statewide Leadership Chairman for Attorney General Ken Paxton, Kolkhorst wants to get the word out that she is ready, willing and able to represent District 18 in the Texas Senate.

Kolkhorst also expresses her displeasure with the way her main opponent has gone negative on her record.

Kolkhorst is running against Republican Charles Gregory, Republican Gary Gates, Richmond business owner, Democrat Cindy Prabek, and Rosenberg attorney, Democrat Christian Hawkins.
