MADISONVILLE HOUSE FIRE

  

A house fire in near Madisonville Thursday morning claimed the life of Madisonville civic leader.

The body of 70 year old Sunny Clouser of Madisonville was discovered by firefighters at 8:20 Thursday morning after fighting the house fire for over 5 hours.  Clouser and her husband had been sleeping in a bedroom next to a garage where heat lamps had been keeping plants warm.  Her husband was able to escape the fire before the roof collapsed.

Clouser was past president of the Madisonville Downtown Merchants, past president of the Texas Mushroom Festival, and was active in the Madison County Arts Council.  An autopsy will be performed in Montgomery County.  The cause of the fatal house fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
