MAINTENANCE BEGINNING ON SEVERAL WASHINGTON CO. ROADS MONDAY

Starting today (Monday), several roads across Washington County will undergo repairs.

The Washington County Road and Bridge Department will perform repairs on Jozwiak Road, Larkspur Lane, and Winecup Court.  Crews will be repairing base failures in preparation for a new chip seal later this summer.  The work should last through Friday, and delays should be expected.

Gaskamp Road will be closed several times today, as workers replace road culverts between the 4300 and 6600 blocks of Gaskamp Road.  The road will be closed from 8 to 10 a.m. from the intersection of FM 105 to Newman League Road, and from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from the intersection of Newman League Road to William Penn Road.

South Berlin Road will also see repairs from the intersection of FM 389 to Old Mill Creek Road, in preparation for a new chip seal later this summer.  The road will remain open and passable, but there could be minor delays.

Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route, if possible.  All work is weather permitting.

  1. What does it take to get road repairs done? I’ve called twice for repairs to Pickens Rd, Conner and Sweed.

Huge chug holes from the trucks coming from the feed lot on Pickens and they just keep growing. Several large chug holes on Sweed and Conner as well. I’m sure Washimgton Co Road and Bridge won’t be paying for repairs to any of my vehicles.

There’s several places where the asphalt is all the way down to the road base. Been like this for at least 6 months and nothing’s been done.

We do pay our Taxes annually not sure what else one can do to get these repairs done.
