MALCOM BROWN NAMED FIRST-TEAM A.P. ALL-AMERICAN

Former Brenham Cub and current Texas Longhorn football star Malcolm Brown has been name First-Team Associated Press All-American.

The 6-3, 320-pound, junior defensive tackle was selected by the sports writers to the First-Team Defense.

In 12 games this year, Brown has had 64 total tackles (14 for losses), 6.5 sacks, and has forced two fumbles—recovering one.

Brown is in his second season as a starting defensive tackle and has emerged as one of the top defensive tackles in the nation this season.

He was named a 2014 finalist for both the Bronco Nagurski Award (top defensive player) and for the Outland Trophy (top interior lineman), and was on the watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award.

Brown has also earned All-America honors from Walter Camp, CBS Sports, USA Today and ESPN.com.

He was an All-American, All-State and three-time All-District player for the Brenham Cubs between 2009-and-2011.

Brown and the Texas Longhorns are getting ready for the Texas Bowl, December 29th in Houston against Arkansas.
