McCAUL NAMED RANKING MEMBER OF ‘FOREIGN AFFAIRS’ COMMITTEE

Local U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul has been named the ranking member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

McCaul, the current chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, was a senior member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

The ranking member is the most senior member of a congressional committee from the minority party.

Democrats won control of the House in the Nov. 8 general elections, making the GOP the minority party for the 116th session.

McCaul said he is, “honored to be selected as the top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.”

He went on to say, he will make it his, “mission to partner with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and colleagues to advance a foreign policy that promotes American leadership on the world stage.”
