McCAUL TO ANNOUNCE BORDER PLAN
Local Congressman Michael McCaul says he will unveil a plan to secure the U.S. border with Mexico, at a press conference Monday.
McCaul, chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, will unveil his border security plan at a 1:30 p.m. gathering on the Rice University campus in Houston.
McCaul says he will introduce steps that can be taken to secure the southern border against drug and human traffickers, and terrorists.
McCaul said his plan will include sector-by-sector recommendations on resource allocation and capability improvements.
During a stop in Brenham in August, McCaul said he was developing a border security plan that would include using military “aviation assets” from Afghanistan on the U.S./Mexico border.
