MEMORIAL DAY BROADCAST ON KWHI

Just like nearly every other aspect of everyday life, this year’s local recognition of Memorial Day will be much different than normal.

Due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Washington County Veterans Association has cancelled the annual Memorial Day activities held at the American Legion Hall.

In its place, KWHI will air Memorial Day programming on Monday, starting at 11 a.m.

The program will feature patriotic music, messages from local elected officials, and a keynote speech from Pastor Allen McClure, retired from the United States Marine Corps.

The program will be broadcast on KWHI AM 1280, FM 101.7, and kwhi.com.

  1. Since the United States Marine Corps DOES NOT have any Chaplains, that should probably be corrected to state that he was from the US NAVY. The USMC pulls all of its chaplains from the US NAVY.

    1. And then again, perhaps he became a Pastor AFTER retiring from the Marine Corps.
