Brenham Police continue to investigate a rash of recent car burglaries.

Three more break ins were reported Tuesday morning—in two of those cases, guns were taken.

Officer Drew Mitchell was called out to the 700 block of W. Mansfield, where a woman said she had heard her dog growl at approximately 10:30 Monday night, but went outside and saw nothing. When she got ready to leave Tuesday morning she noticed her pistol case on the passenger side floor board. She looked into her glove compartment and her 22-caliber handgun and Garmin GPS were missing. Total value of items taken is $550.

Officer Hunter Andras was dispatched to the 600 block of West Chauncey, where a man said he had parked his vehicle in front of his residence at approximately 6 p.m. on Monday. When he got in his vehicle the next morning, he noticed his Smith and Wesson handgun was missing.  The man said he had locked his vehicle the evening before and Andras said he did see pry marks on the driver’s side door.

And, Cpl. Edward Ortega was dispatched to the 700 block of W. Mansfield where he met with the caller who said that at approximately 10:30 Monday evening the neighbors’ dogs started barking; the caller checked but didn’t see anything. He said when he got up Tuesday morning to leave for work he noticed his vehicle had been rummaged through. The only thing missing was $40.
