COLLISION LEAVES ONE DEAD IN COLLEGE STATION TUESDAY MORNING

  

After the collision of a truck and motorcycle this (Tuesday) morning, police in College Station have had to shut down lanes in both directions on Texas Avenue.

Occurring just after 3am, the crash scattered debris across all lanes of traffic, which caused the shutdown of Texas Avenue between Southwest Parkway E. and Krenek Tap Road.

Officers on scene reported one rider on the motorcycle and only the driver in the truck. The accident occurred when the truck was pulling out from the Days Inn parking lot on to Texas, on which the motorcycle was travelling southbound.

Both parties were transported to the hospital, and reports state that one person has already died as a result.

The scene is still under investigation, and officers expect the road involved to be closed for the majority of the early morning hours. Commuters should plan to use alternate routes.
