NANCY CAROL ROBERTS LIBRARY TO CLOSE

This Christmas Break is here for Brenham young people and many have been known to visit the Nancy Carol Roberts Library during the winter respite from school, but not this year.

The Brenham Public Library is closed beginning Monday and will re-open on January 2nd.  During that time an inventory will be taken and they will be looking at collections, processes, processing and spacing issues.  Wendy Ragonis, the city of Brenham’s Administrative Services Director, is temporarily in charge of the Library, says they are trying to see how they can better serve the patrons  with the new technology and make the library more efficient can provide better services.  Ragonis says they need to prepare for the future, in which libraries may become very different places.

She says they are ‘migrating’ to a new integrated library system, that should allow them to process everything from book orders to invoices in customer concerns.

Ragonis says the Library will be closed from December 23rd, (Monday) to Thursday, January 2nd.  Ragonis says they will have a reception for the returning patrons.

  1. Always LOVED coming to the Library. Though there were times it wasn’t often enough. Hope the children of today will start taking advantage of going to the library, regardless of the new technologies coming out. They(new technologies) aren’t always as correct on our histories as reading and research of the older books.
