NAVASOTA CHAMBER HAS NEW DIRECTOR

The Navasota/Grimes Co. Chamber of Commerce has a new executive director.

Johnny McNally moved to Navasota from Houston 10 years ago, and says he wants to help preserve the small town feel, while paving the way for future growth.

McNally takes over a position has been open over the past year, after former director Pam Beard left the post.  Christine Simich had served as interim director, until her resignation at the end of May.

McNally said he’s going to review the Chamber’s annual events and fundraisers, to see if they’re worth continuing.

McNally says he’ll make recommendations and could introduce some new events that he feels would help promote local businesses.

McNally says another goal is to update chamber members on legislative issues that could affect their businesses.

He says he wants to improve communication with businesses across the county – via email, surveys, quizzes and personal visits – while including them in the event planning process.
