NAVASOTA CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS FUTURE OF NAVASOTA FREEDOM FESTIVAL

The Navasota City Council will hold a special meeting Monday at noon to potentially decide the fate of the city’s first-ever Freedom Festival.

The event is scheduled for the Fourth of July in downtown Navasota, featuring a parade, live music, food and shopping vendors, kid’s activities, and fireworks.

However, with Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order Friday, gatherings of more than 100 people are prohibited without explicit permission from the local governing body.  The order was signed as the state continues to see increases in COVID-19 cases.

Details and announcements on the festival can be seen at www.navasotafreedomfestival.com.

  1. Everyone should just show up at the festival and call it a protest. Our government has proven they won’t do anything to stop that.
