NAVASOTA ISD INSTRUCTOR CHOSEN AS ONE OF THE “20 TO WATCH” HONOREE

  

A teacher from Navasota, Aaron Marvel, has been announced as one of the “20 to Watch” honorees for 2014-2015 by the National School Boards Associations’ Technology Leadership Network.

Marvel is an instructional coach at Navasota Intermediate School, and will travel to Atlanta during Spring Break to receive his recognition.

The NSBA’s says that Marvel’s knowledge from his doctoral work in child psychology helps teachers identify the right technology to meet the needs of the district’s diverse student population, and as an instructional coached, he has helped the school secure a Swivl robot with a motion sensor camera that allows teachers to record and evaluate themselves to improve instruction and monitor the progress of their goals.

Nineteen others were also selected.

Some of the qualifications for the honor are the ability to inspire colleague to explore and embrace innovative technology solutions that contribute to high quality instruction and support more personalized learning experiences for students.
