NAVASOTA MAN CHARGED WITH ‘HUMAN TRAFFICKING’

Dedrick Henderson (Brazos Co. Jail)

A Navasota man has been charged with Human Trafficking after his arrest last week in College Station.

College Station police were called out last week to a local hotel, where the caller told police a woman left a bag of drugs on the counter and was staying in the motel.

Police found Dedrick Henderson, a woman, and a child in one of the rooms.  The child told police she was sexually assaulted by Henderson and that he expected her to sleep with other men.  The woman told police Henderson had been acting as her pimp.

Police also found drug paraphernalia, multiple cell phones, and a large amount of money.

Henderson is charged with Trafficking of a person and two drug possession charges.

  1. Human trafficking is the modern form of slavery. This is a crime that does immense harm to people and to our society. It is my sincere hope that the DA will not plea this down and that if found guilty and convicted, he is given a LONG sentence to pay for his crimes. Human traffickers are some of the worst forms of predators and when caught we need to take firm stand against them by sending a message that we will not tolerate this in our society.
