NAVASOTA POLICE DEPARTMENT RECOGNIZED BY CLICK IT OR TICKET CAMPAIGN

  

The Navasota Police Department is working to ensure that motorist who travel through Navasota are doing it safely.

The department has been chosen along with other agencies, to receive a $3,000 award from TXDOT, whom the department has been partnering with since 2006 in the Click It or Ticket Campaign.

The funding will help further traffic safety in Navasota.

“The Navasota Police Department would like to personally thank all the motorist of Navasota who decided to buckle up. And for those that choose not to wear their seat belt, remember, that if you don’t click it, you will receive a ticket,” says Navasota Police Department Lt. Justin Leeth.

Leeth also cited a statistic that out of the 3,371 people killed in crashes in the state in 2013, approximately 1500 were not wearing their seatbelt.
