NAVASOTA POLICE INVESTIGATING STUDENT-POLICE OFFICER ALTERCATION

A Navasota teenager was taken into custody Monday afternoon, following an altercation involving two city police officers at Navasota High School.

According to Navasota police, the incident involved a 16-year-old who assaulted two police officers on campus.  After additional city and Grimes County authorities responded to assist, the teen was apprehended.

Authorities say the situation was contained, and there is no threat to anyone on campus.  No one was seriously injured, but the two officers assaulted and the teenager were both taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The teenager will be charged with two counts of Assault on a Peace Officer.  Due to their status as a juvenile, their identity will not be released.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
