NAVASOTA REOPENS COVID-19 RELIEF GRANT FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

Small businesses in Navasota are invited again to apply for COVID-19 assistance through the Navasota Economic Development Corporation (NEDC).

The NEDC’s Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant is being opened for a second round, to continue providing short-term, immediate financial aid to local businesses who have been economically hurt by the pandemic.  Applications will be accepted this upcoming Monday through Friday.

Friday, the NEDC distributed the first round of relief funding to recipients including retail stores, restaurants, lodging establishments, salons, barbers, and independent contractors.  Businesses that received funding during the first round will not be eligible for funding during round two.

Selected businesses may receive up to $1,000 in funding, while sole proprietors and independent contractors can receive up to $500.  Eligible businesses must prove their services and revenue have been affected by COVID-19, and must be planning to reopen.  They must also be non-home based, located within Navasota city limits, and employ no more than 24 employees.

Priority is based on need and a first-come, first-serve basis.  Non-profits are not eligible.
