NAVASOTA “TREATS ON THE STREETS” TONIGHT

Ghosts and goblins will be taking to the streets of Navasota tonight (Thursday) when the Navasota Police Department hosts its annual Treats on the Streets—a safe alternative to trick or treating.

The event will start at 6:00 p.m.

Candy will be handed out by local organizations and businesses that will be set up along the 200 block of Holland Street.

Again this year will be a “one way access” that will begin at Holland and Lasalle near Snowflake Donut. The route will end in the parking lot of the City Municipal Building.

A costume contest will be held at 7:00 p.m. Participants will be divided into four age categories: 3 years of age and younger; 4 year olds – to – kindergarten; 1st grade – to – 3rd grade; and 4th and 5th grades.

Trophies will be awarded to participants placing first thru third.

Last year’s event attracted approximately 2000 people that trick or treated for candy provided by business, civic and church groups.

Blake of KTEX-106 will be broadcasting live.
