Dozens of animals found a new home Saturday, through the Brenham Pet Adoption Center’s “Clear the Shelter” event.

According to Brenham Animal Services Manager Allison Harper, about 200 people showed up for the event, and 39 animals were adopted—21 cats and 18 dogs.  At last year’s event, Harper reported 56 adoptions.

There are still 20 cats and 16 dogs available for adoption, including Lucy and Lady, a pair of eight-year-old female Shepherd mixes.  The two were surrendered to the shelter in March because their owner was moving.  Their adoption fees will be waived when they are adopted.

If you would like to adopt any of the remaining animals at the shelter, visit the Brenham Pet Adoption Center at 1804 Longwood Drive.
