NETWORK UPGRADES FOR HEALTH CLINIC, WORKSHOP ON HOT TAXES TUESDAY FOR WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS

Washington County Commissioners will act upon expanding network capabilities at the Washington County Health Clinic at their meeting Tuesday.

Commissioners will consider the purchase of materials and labor for City of Brenham fiber for the clinic, along with additional annual maintenance fees for the fiber.

County Information Technology Director T.J. Harris said as the city used to own the health clinic building on Chappell Hill Street, it will pull new fiber from the fire department next door to set up at the clinic.  He said this will add the clinic onto Washington County’s network.

Commissioners will also hear presentations from VFW Post 7104 Commander Ben Seeker and from the Brenham Masonic Lodge.  They will also recognize the water rescue team for its efforts during major storms earlier this year.

Also in court, commissioners will consider:

  • Approval of an engineering contract from Strand Associates for the County Transportation Infrastructure Fund (CTIF) grant program.
  • Approval of the county CDL drug and alcohol testing policy and procedures.
  • Approval of a new bond for Reserve Deputy Sheriff Carl Wiesepape.
  • Monthly reports from the Emergency Management Coordinator, environmental health department, district and county clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor/collector, treasurer, constables, and Washington County Fairgrounds management.

Following their regular meeting, commissioners will hold a workshop to discuss LodgingRevs, a platform that would administrate and streamline compliance and collections of Hotel Occupancy Taxes.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse, as early voting continues at the Washington County Courthouse Annex.  The workshop will be held at 10 a.m. in the district courtroom of the courthouse.
