On Tuesday evening, Blinn College selected Dr. Mary Hensley as their choice for the 15th Blinn College District President.

Hensley will be the first female president in the school’s history, and is currently serving at the Austin Community College District, and has been at that post for fourteen years.

For the last six and a half year, she has served as the Executive Vice President for College Operations, where she oversaw eleven campuses and six off-campus centers.

Dr. Hensley tells what she would like to do first in her role as District President.

Hensley also gives her opinion on how to unify all of the Blinn campuses and why she thinks that is important.

Dr. Hensley also tells why she is such a big advocate of Dual Credit.

Hensley is expected to assume the presidency on or about July 1st. Her selection ends five months of the search process that originally began with 42 applicants.

The Blinn President position was previously held by Dr. Harold Nolte, who retired in January. Dr. Ana Guzman is currently serving as interim President.

A video of Dr. Hensley's public forum at Blinn from Tuesday May 5th  may be seen below.
