NEW PRESS BOX NEARS COMPLETION AT ALUMNI FIELD

Work is almost complete on the new press box for Brenham Cubette Softball at Alumni field at the high school.

Workers are putting the finishing touches on the new press box, which sits atop the stands behind home plate at Alumni field.  This is the first ever press box for the home of the Cubettes, which opened in 1998.  The team has been raising funds for the project over the past year, with many local businesses and individuals contributing.  Brenham Softball just held another successful fundraising dinner this past weekend.  The press box was designed by Katie Burch of Plan North Architectural Company.  Philip Derkowski, Director of Maintenance for B.I.S.D., has been overseeing its construction.

The Cubettes will see their first action of the season tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon beginning at 4:15 as they host scrimmages against LaGrange and Bellville.
