NEW SCHOOLS ARE ON SCHEDULE

Assistant BISD School Supt. Byron McAdams reported to the Brenham School Board of Trustees at last (Monday) night’s meeting that the schools are progressing and catching up for lost time from the rain  delays.   The new $14 million Alton Elementary School should be finished by June of 2014, plenty of time for the teachers and staff to come in and prepare for the school year.   McAdams said the framing for both exterior and the interior of the school is up, allowing the rest of the construction work.

McAdams says the cafeteria slab for the Brenham Middle School was poured  last week.

In other news from the Brenham School Board meeting last (Monday) night:  it appears that driving a new car is working out very well for the Career and Technology Department.  Appel Ford and the Ford Motor Company sponsored the ‘Drive One 4 UR School’ fundraiser on October fifth.   For every test drive of a new Ford, Appel would donate $20 to the Career and Technology Department.   Ron Eilers of the CTE Department presented a check of $1960 from the event.  Another Drive One for UR School will be in the spring.
