A Waller Co. grand jury declined to indict anyone in the death of Sandra Bland, who hung herself in a Texas jail cell last summer.

Prosecutor Darrell Jordan says the grand jury will reconvene in January, however, to consider if there should be charges in her arrest, which was caught on video and sparked an uproar.

Bland, a native of Chicago who was on her way to a new job, was pulled over on July 10 for changing lanes improperly. But a confrontation erupted between her and the officer – leading to her arrest.

Bland spent three days in the Waller County Jail and was unable to raise $500 bond before her body was discovered in her cell.

  1. I completely agree with the decision of the grand jury, however I watched every minute of the video where Ms. Bland was arrested and believe the DPS officer who arrested her behaved very poorly. I tend to be a law and order guy who sides with the police, but this officer provoked this situation and created a confrontation that was completely unwarranted. He had no reason to arrest her, he should have issued the ticket and moved on. This did not cause her death, but she had no business being in jail. What has happened with regard to that officer?

  2. I’m sure that the grand jury had a very difficult decision to make. It’s good to see that there are still people who will exercise proper impartial judgement and don’t give in to PC pressure to assuage the masses of people who believe only what they want to believe and refuse to accept the facts.
