NAMES RELEASED IN WASHINGTON COUNTY CRASH
Authorities have released the names of those involved in a fatal high-speed chase Wednesday night in Washington County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says 18-year-old Devon Frederick-Cross of Navasota was the driver of a 2007 Lincoln Town Car reported stolen out of College Station.
Authorities located the vehicle just before 7:00 Wednesday night at Bluebell Road and Highway-105.
A chase ensued, reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
The chase ended when the fleeing vehicle stuck another vehicle while trying to avoid spike strips.
29-year old Ameilia Mejia, of Waco, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
18-year old Justin Garcia of Bryan was ejected from the front passenger seat, and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Two people in the vehicle that was struck by Frederick-Cross, 50-year old Christopher Jackson and 40-year old Terah Jackson, were treated for minor injuries and released from Scott and White hospital in Brenham.
God bless all involved, glad to hear that the Jackson family is okay.
My mom and dad, Terah and Chris, were taken to saint Joseph’s in Bryan not S&W in brenham.
Thank you for all the prayers and support. My husband and I were taken to St Joe’s in Bryan. And we are not rubbernecking.
