OVER 50 ANIMALS ADOPTED AT ‘CLEAR THE SHELTERS’ SATURDAY

Numerous animals found their forever-home on Saturday, as part of the “Clear the Shelters” event at the Brenham Pet Adoption Center.

Bruno

Animal Services Manager Allison Harper reports that, of the 97 animals at the shelter, 56 were adopted on Saturday—34 cats and 22 dogs.  That number is slightly down from last year, according to Harper, who reported nearly 70 adoptions at last year’s event.

Alcazar

The adoption center has announced a handful of “Longtime Loveables” that are still up for adoption.  Bruno is a gentle lab mix with a sweet personality, and has already been neutered and vaccinated.

Simba

Alcazar and Simba both have great personalities, but will have some health issues to deal with since both are heartworm positive.  Simba has started heartworm treatment, but Alcazar has not.  Both dogs are volunteer favorites.

If you would like to adopt any of the remaining animals at the shelter, visit the Brenham Pet Adoption Center at 1804 Longwood Drive.  The shelter will be extending “Clear the Shelters” on the “Longtime Loveables” by waiving their adoption fees.

  1. I hope the Animals went to good safe homes. When Shelters get Desperate to *Get Rid of Animals*. They over look the persons ability to be s Good Home.
I can only Hope all these Animals are Safe.

    1. From what I saw they were doing questions and answers and keeping very close tabs on people who were looking at the animals. I seriously doubt that every one of them were able to adopt.

I also know of many people who walked away from adoption simply because they didn’t find a pet they knew would fit their family.

And if they were desperate, I think they’d adopted out all of them and not had so many left. I keep thinking (and yes I may be in error) last year all of them were adopted out at this event.
