OVER 8,500 EARLY VOTERS THROUGH NINE DAYS OF EARLY VOTING

Over a third of the current total of registered voters in Washington County have voted in November’s general election, through nine days of early voting.

County Clerk Beth Rothermel said there were 738 voters that cast ballots Wednesday.

That brings the in-person total of early voters to 8,504, about 35 percent of the county’s registered voters, which numbered 23,986 as of Monday.

Rothermel said this week’s voting turnout has been less than the first week, but voting still remains brisk and steady.  She encourages voters to come out this week rather than next week, as she expects there could be lines again as early voting concludes.

Extended voting hours continue today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Early voting will also take place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 3 p.m.

The last day of early voting is October 30th, and Election Day is November 3rd.
