PANTHER FOOTBALL SEASON ENDS IN BI-DISTRICT PLAYOFFS

A strong fourth-quarter by the Chilton Pirates ended the season for the Burton Panthers, 28-21 at Taylor, Thursday night.

The Pirates (7-4), trailing the Panthers (6-5) 21-14, rallied for two touchdown runs by quarterback McKellar Cook to pull out the win.

The Panthers jumped out to a 14-0 lead on a 56-yard interception return by Cooper Lucherk in the first quarter and a 14-yard touchdown run by Cash Callahan in the second.

Chilton cut the lead to 14-7 at the half on Cook’s 60-yard run.

Luis Fernandez of the Pirates tied the game 14-14 with an 85-yard fumble return for a touchdown.  But the Panthers reclaimed the lead on a 39-yard scoring run by Callahan.

With Burton leading 21-14 in the fourth quarter, Cook tied the game on a 10-yard run by Cook.  The Pirate quarterback then scored the game-winner on a one-yard run.

The Panthers end the season 6-5, while the Pirates go to 7-4 on the season and advance to the Area Playoffs against the winner of the Falls City/LaVilla game, scheduled for Friday.
