PASTURE PESTS PROGRAM TUESDAY IN BRENHAM

An educational seminar on pasture pests is set for Tuesday, May 29th at the Washington County fairgrounds sales facility.

The program, set to begin at 5:30, will address pasture pest management and control.

Pasture pests are a common concern in south central Texas. The economic impacts can be significant if insects that adversely impact forage growth and performance go unnoticed and are left unmanaged.

Pre-registration is $10 per person and is required by this Tuesday (May 22) at the Extension Office on East Blue Bell Road. Registration at the event will be $20 per person.

Registration will include the meal, refreshments, and program materials. Two continuing education units (1 general, 1 integrated pest management) will be offered to all licensed applicators. The Washington County Farm Bureau is program sponsor for the evening.

For more information and to RSVP for the Grass Growers Gathering Part II – Pasture Pests, call the Washington County Extension Office on or before Tuesday (May 22) at 277-6212 or register online at http://washington.agrilife.org/.  Registration information can be found under the EVENTS tab on the home screen.

A homeowner maintenance of septic systems course will be held Wednesday (May 30) at the Washington County fairgrounds sales facility.
