PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION TO MEET MONDAY

Parking for compact vehicles is on the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the Brenham Planning & Zoning Commission.

The commission will hold public hearing on a revision to the minimum landscaping requirements for parking areas—regarding the minimum parking space stall dimensions and minimum parking space size for compact parking.

The board will also hold a public hearing on the city’s request for an amendment to the zoning ordinances to change from Local Business/Residential Mixed to Commercial Research and Technology for four tracts of land.

They will also hear a request from Circle K for an amendment for 1708 Highway 105 for a zoning change for a new convenience store.

The board will meet Monday at 5:15 at Brenham City Hall.

  1. Re: Parking
If approved, who will enforce parking for compact cars? All too often, handicap parking is disregarded with little or no enforcement.

  2. The changes by planning and zoning have already allowed the puniest residential lots for new houses and now will approve the puniest parking spaces. Original Brenham principals being gerrymandered. Original Brenham is quickly disappearing.

    1. You are right. The reasons many of us never leave Brenham is because of our heritage on being a conservative town. Unfortunately, the newcomers will not get it until they have completely driven up our taxes even more and ruined our open neighborhood areas. This is what happens when uneducated outsiders that are only here to make money take control of local government.

      1. Could of never said it better ! They come in from the “Big City” and then all of a sudden they hypnotize our local people into agreeing with them on their “Big City” thoughts! They do not understand……we like it the way it is, that is why we stay !
