PLANTS N THINGS CHANGES OWNERSHIP

Plants N Things, a full line lawn and garden center operating in Washington County for more than 25 years, has changed ownership.

Jeb Poston has purchased Plants N Things from Allen and Mary Stolz, who have owned and operated the business since 1990. Poston has been the general manager of the Brenham Chili’s restaurant since it opened more than ten years ago.

Poston says his goal is to continue the outstanding customer service provided by the Stolz family and their staff through the years. “Mr. and Mrs. Stolz have done a great job of providing the Washington County community with lawn and garden services through the years, and my goal is to build on it. I welcome all our old-and new-customers to come by for a visit” said Poston.

“Also, we would like to hear from our customers about possible new services and products in the months ahead. We know we cannot do everything people want, but we want to do all we can to meet their needs when it comes to lawn and gardens” said Poston.

A native of Galena Park, Texas, Poston has resided in Washington County for a number of years with his late parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Poston. He is a veteran of three years active service in the U.S. Air Force. A life-long gardening enthusiast, Post said that after visiting several times with the Stolz family he felt it was a great opportunity.

“We have been working with Jeb closely, and we are convinced he will continue to grow Plants N Things in the future. We thank our many customers and encourage them to come by and visit with Jeb. We know he will continue to give good, personal service” said Allen Stolz.

Poston says he plans on keeping the current staff. “They have done a great job in the past, and I know they will do so in the future” he says.

Poston’s wife, Jennifer, will continue to teach in the Cy-Fair school district, but she and son Zach- a sophomore at Brenham High School- will be “on call” to help. Jennifer is the daughter of Charles and Peggy Moser of Brenham.
