UPDATE: POWER RESTORED TO OVER 3,OOO BLUEBONNET CUSTOMERS

  

UPDATE:

As of 11:30 a.m. power was restored to the all the affected customers in central and eastern Washington County.

EARLIER:

A large power outage is being reported throughout Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s service area in central and eastern Washington County.

The outage is affecting approximately 3,400 Bluebonnet Customers.

Bluebonnet’s Manager of Public Affairs, Will Holford, says the outage is caused by a bird getting caught in the Chappell Hill substation.

LCRA crews are already on the scene, working to fix the problem. Once the amount of damage caused by the bird is established, crews will have an idea how long it will be until power is restored.
